Welchen Vorteil bietet BoreLock? Zum einen wird der Schalldämpfer fest mit dem Mündungsgewinde arretiert, ein ungewolltes „lockern“ des Schalldämpfers ist nicht möglich. Zum anderen kann der Schalldämpfer schnell und unkompliziert zwischen verschiedenen Waffen gewechselt werden, so lange diese sich nicht im Kaliberdurchmesser unterscheiden und mit einem BoreLock Mündungsfeuerdämpfer ausgestattet sind. Jeder Bore-Lock-Schalldämpfer besteht aus einem Mündungsfeuerdämpfer der auf dem Mündungsgewinde der Waffe angebracht wird und dem zugehörigen Schalldämpfer.
